"i am one drop / many..." - two poems by Home Hayward
“tragicized”
i am bleached flesh
beached whale
bleeding profusely
from deep in our gut
i am one drop / many
severed stranded spilling
grief far from home
our harpoon ruptured body
empties onto the land
as gazing tourists
try to decide what
i am
~
“february”
what is home when
it is outside waiting
what is home if
not my name
a name warm lush
a name home
an apparition
a suitcase
pack myself up and
go home is never
outside waiting when
you are home
